It is important on the grounds of:

1. Fairness
The Council are both the Owners of the land and the Applicants as well as the Planning Authority. We believe that the decision should be taken by an independent authority.

2. Amenity
The proposal to build private houses on the public park and gardens will destroy public open space. We believe a public enquiry to be necessary.
