Say NO to 8 NEW UK NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS
The Issue
£100 Billion is required to be invested in energy production in the UK to meet the energy shortfall.
UK Government Ministers have announced plans for the next generation of nuclear facilities.
The government has confirmed a list of eight sites it deems suitable for new power stations: all of which are adjacent to existing nuclear sites.These areas will not only have to incur increased disturbance due to decommissioning - but they will also have to take on the enviromental impact of Nuclear New Build
This is overburdening the designated communities of Bradwell, Essex; Hartlepool, Cleveland ; Heysham, Lancashire; Hinkley Point, Somerset; Oldbury,Gloucestershire; Sellafield, Cumbria; Sizewell, Suffolk; and Wylfa, Anglesey. Please say No.
Nuclear is not the cheap, safe affordable option it is presented as -
The proposals for new UK nuclear power plants are not necessary, they were put forward as part of a series of national policy statements on energy designed to attract investment regardless. Sustainable energy inititiaves can be viable and profitable. Nuclear does not have to replace nuclear. We CAN have CLEAN GREEN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY ALTERNATIVES, progressive technological developments are possible.

and urge the safe decommissioning of existing nuclear establishments.
There are affordable clean green alternatives.
