Save Laguna

Save Laguna

The Issue

Laguna's beaches, tidepools, kelp and reef are under threat from overuse and overfishing, but there is a plan to save them.

Under legislation passed and signed in 1999, this area can be saved. And by saving it, we can improve the overall health of southern California's ocean.

The key is adoption of Laguna's coast as a fully-protected marine reserve by the state’s Fish and Game Commission.

There is broad support for the protection of Laguna, but some foreign fishing equipment manufacturers are lobbying to exclude this special place from California's ocean protection plan.

We URGE you to sign this petition to tell the California's Fish and Game Commission that you want a strong network of Marine Protected Areas.
