In April 2011,  my husband Malcolm Brabant - the veteran, award-winning BBC foreign correspondent - had a yellow fever vaccination in preparation for a trip to Africa.  Less than 24 hours after  receiving the vaccine he was very, very ill and has since spent many months in hospital.  The manufacturers of the vaccine, Sanofi Pasteur, are refusing to share details of the 'investigation' that they  say they have conducted into the matter and which has led them to conclude, there is no link between their vaccine and my husband's severe illness.

Vaccines are meant to help people. On this occasion it nearly killed my husband.
