Outlaw the killing of "surplus" animals bred for experiments & enforce their compulsory rehoming. Closure of laboratory breeding facilities in the UK and the end of animal experiments
The Issue
Expose Animal Experiments find that the uncontrolled and self authorised euthanizing of healthy animals because they are considered as "surplus stock" by the laboratory animal breeding industry not only immoral but abhorrent.
We want the compulsory rehoming of so called "surplus" animals from laboratory breeding facilities. Undercover investigations have reveal that not only young beagle puppies but also their mothers have been killed merely because they were considered "surplus stock" or their productivity as breeders was not longer considered economically viable.
We also demand that the government actively, ie compulsorily, imposes the rehoming of rabbits, mice, monkeys, fish, farm animals and all other species bred for use in experimentation yet killed as they are considered "surplus stock". We also demand that the Government and breeders publicly publishes records, and that are legally required under Article 30 of European Directive 2010/63/EU, of the number of animals euthanised in breeding facilities. We also call for the end to the use of all animals in all forms of experimentation and their replacement with modern alternatives.
