Re-evaluate the implementation plan for standardising to Delphi over Java

The Issue

In response to criticism in the media, the DBE responded with the document entitled "IMPLEMENTATION PLAN FOR STANDARDISING PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR 2015" [1]. Study of the document shows that the rationale behind the standardisation to Delphi is flawed in several aspects.

What we call for is for the National Department of Basic Education to action a re-evaluation process that would see a number of inaccuracies and omissions with respect to Java, the programming language and technology, be addressed in the revised document. We believe that these inaccuracies and omissions have had a significant effect on the final proposal that supports Delphi as the programming language of choice.
