I have started an online petition to gain support for having Marine Drive resurfaced, and perhaps even widened.   We would appreciate any help or support in trying to achieve this.   The road hasn't been resurfaced in probably 15-20 years, and it is a major cycling route in the city, and a big advert to locals and visitors.   Over the past 10 years, from Ironman alone, it has helped to generate millions of rands in tourism for the city, and everyone who has used the road will comment on how poor it is.   We have international professionals, even world champions (Chrissie Wellington), who have remarked about it being the worst surface they have ever competed on.   Hundreds of cyclists use this route weekly, and with the shoulder breaking away, it is becoming increasingly dangerous.   Please consider this request and help us improve the road for the sake of all cyclists and vehicles.
