Queen Mary University of London: Petition for Permanent and Adequate Friday Prayer Provision

The Issue

At the core of the life of a Muslim Student is an obligation to pray 5 times daily. One of the main objectives of this revolves around prayer in congregation. Queen Mary, University of London is home to over 500 Muslim students with an expanding population every year and with a larger amount of students getting more involved with the various aspects of university life. However, as of now we lack an adequate prayer facility to accommodate this large body of students. More importantly, there are inadequate provisions for the establishment of the Friday congregational prayer on campus, with ease, comfort and safety.
