Protect Bus Services to Rural Communities in Morecambe and Lunesdale

The Issue

Eric Pickles, David Morris and this Tory Government have imposed a 40% cut of over £300 million on our local council. The local council, faced with impossible choices between transport, social care, education and the enviroment have nowhere to turn and now vital transport services to rural communities are at risk. Sign this petition to send a message to the Tory Government that cutting off transport to rural communities is not acceptable.

Amina LonePetition StarterI was selected as Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Morecambe and Lunesdale on Thursday 25th July 2013. I'm, 41, is a single mother of four (three sons and one daughter, aged 22, 21, 16 and 14) and currently splits my time between Morecambe and Manchester, where I represents Hulme ward as a councillor. I'm the founder and Co-Director of a Community Interest Company, the Social Action and Research Foundation, which co-produces policy with communities to combat poverty. I have spent 20 years working with under-served communities throughout England and I am passionate about empowering people to realise their full potential. I volunteer with marginalised groups, women’s groups, young people’s organisations and within working-class communities.
