The Issue

In the latest twist in the saga to overturn Prop 8 – the ban on marriage for same-sex couples in California – the state Supreme Court has announced it will review a legal question that could delay the case for another year! Our allies at the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) continue to fight Prop 8 in court but they need our help.

While Prop 8 remains on the books, thousands of families are denied their basic equality guaranteed by the constitution.

HRC sent a letter to the California Supreme Court asking them to speed up their process. Please stand up for LGBT families and add your name to these letters by filling out the form on the left.
