Mr. David Waines is FREE!!! Thank all so much for your support of Director of Equip Liberia and personal hero, David Waines, in praying, signing this petition, and sending messages. Though freed for medical reasons, there is still a chance that the government of Liberia may send him back into prison. We thank her Excellency President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for this act of compassion and justice. We only ask now that she ensures that Mr. David Waines is kept in freedom where he is no longer suffering in the Monrovia Central Prison.

Six months ago, Director of Equip Liberia, David Waines, was falsely accused of impregnating a young Liberian girl. David Waines said, "This key allegation and supposed prima fascia evidence, which caused the whole case, has proved false as on Feb. 13 2014 she gave birth to a baby boy - who even my enemies admit is obviously the product of two negro parents and has nothing to do with me." Despite Mr. Waines and his defendants' efforts to bring forth numerous items of evidence confirming his innocence, his accusers have found ways to thwart these attempts. Thus, those attacking him have left him in a horrible and dirty prison cell where he was in danger of death due to life-threatening diseases. Further, he had been poisoned, harrassed, and cruelly treated.

"In 1998, the Waines family founded Equip Liberia, currently one of the most effective aid organizations in the country. Equip has built dozens of schools and hundreds of clean water wells. They've also helped to find and train staff for many clinics and develop a tranformational community health services program that has educated thousands of Liberians" (see video below). Through this organization and in many other ways, Mr. David Waines and his family have provided crucial and necessary aid to Liberia's rebuilding and development.
