Every hour of every day four elephants are killed by poachers to supply the ivory trade in China. Poachers are using military weapons, tactical vehicles and even helicopters to kill their victims. Recently 83 elephants (and many other creatures) were killed when poachers poured cyanide into a waterhole in Hwange, Zimbabwe.

Elephants are sentient creatures. Their intelligence and gentle empathy has fascinated us for centuries. They celebrate birth and mourn their dead, the only other creatures who do so. They've also been known to bury  dead  rhinos,  lions  and  humans. 

To get a tusk you have to kill the elephant. Sustainable harvesting is not possible. We need to stop the slaughter or our children and grandchildren will think of the elephant as we think of the mammoth: extinct. Don't let it happen. Those carved trinkets you buy are the products of slaughter and great cruelty. Please don't buy them.
