The new parcel rates ( 0 - 1 kg, 2nd class will rise from £3 odd to £5.20, 1 - 2kg from £5 odd to £8.00 ) will seriously damage local Post Office revenues.
We spend roughly £10,000 p.a. at our post office. This sort of price hike will force e-commerce business like ourselves to move to far more competitive, and efficient, private company couriers.
The Post Office needs to seriously examine it`s efficiency rather than force through huge price rises of nearly 70%, particularly with the massive growth in on-line sales.
We need our local Post Offices for many local services, this will force the closure of many, many more.
