Southern Poverty Law Center has evidence that extremists join the US armed forces to receive training that they can later use in working with hate groups. Despite the SPLC presenting its findings to the Department of Defense and Congress, there has been no action.  Inadvertent training of hate group loyalists about terrorist tactics creates a very serious situation that may well place minority groups and other Americans at risk. Congress and the Administration must set standards that will result in the rejection of members of known hate groups who attempt to join the military.
