Dancing bears was a large part of entertainment in India until it was banned in 1972. Although its banned to do this on the streets approximately 600 bears are injured and roaming the streets. The sloth bears were captured from the wild as young cubs and went through torture, holes were burned through their noses and forced to stand on red-hot plates being made to 'dance'. Though most bears have been given a suitable home a large quantity are left homeless, without food or water. Charities such as 'Born Free' do a huge amount of work saving these animals and building shelters for them and giving them the food and nutrients they need to survive. This petition will make governments aware of the horrifying situation and suggest donating money towards the cause.
