Stop the concrete, spare the garden

Stop the concrete, spare the garden
The Issue
We need your help! The Haringey Council are replacing our shared garden with a concrete bin refuse. They own the freehold of the building and did not consult the leaseholders before digging up plants for the foundations. Work is scheduled to proceed.
Why should we try stop them?
1. Plants are essential for a healthy environment and provide a sustainable source of food.
2. Concrete contributes to flooding.
3. Research has shown that green is good for you. Green space in towns and cities could lead to significant and sustained improvements in mental health. Watch a short clip on this here: http://vimeo.com/83228781
If that isn't enough, here are another 43 reasons: www.ealingfrontgardens.org.uk/page6.htm
We are devastated to be losing this precious green space.
But we're hoping that local support might persuade the council to stop work.
We're hugely grateful. THANK YOU.
