Gov. Brown: Stand with the Communication Workers of America in Support of the AT&T/T-Mobile Merger

Gov. Brown: Stand with the Communication Workers of America in Support of the AT&T/T-Mobile Merger
The Issue
Millions of Americans are out of work or looking for work.
The US has fallen behind the rest of the world in developing the high speed broadband infrastructure that will create the jobs of the future.
The proposed merger of AT&T and T-Mobile would create thousands of new, quality jobs, accelerate broadband build out, and improve wireless communications throughout the country.
27 other governors now support of the merger. The Communications Workers of America and their thousands of California members are asking Gov. Jerry Brown to support American workers and consumers by showing he is strongly behind the merger.
These jobs include the direct work of building the network as well as indirect jobs for the thousands of people in secondary industries.
For residents of rural areas, where broadband helps people stay connected and stay competitive, this is a life changing development. The merger will dramatically expand broadband access to rural and underserved areas, bringing coverage with all its advantages to 98% of California.
The merger will also benefit workers in the wireless industry as AT&T is the only wireless company with a unionized workforce and a long tradition of non-interference with respect to the organizing employees.
Take action now: tell Gov. Jerry Brown to support the AT&T/T-Mobile Merger. It will create thousands of new, quality jobs, accelerate broadband build out, and improve wireless communications across the country.
