Kpop is becoming internationally recognised and is rapidly growing in popularity. With big hits from PSY (Gangnam Style and Gentleman) proving that kpop can be enjoyed despite being sung in korean.
With many groups such as Big Bang and 2NE1 recently completing world tours, and other groups such as Girls Generation branching out to America, it shows that kpop is becoming a force to be reckoned with globally.
The pop, partyish feel of kpop is perfect for the atmosphere of Glastonbury and this is why I believe kpop should be brought to Glastonbury. The tunes are catchy, they have amazing dances and vocals and will not let the audience down despite language barriers (though most groups have english-speaking members).
I believe that Glastonbury would be missing out on this ever growing wave of popularity and as a fan of kpop myself I feel that this is the perfect platform to show off kpop and help it grow in popularity. Not only are the performances high quality but you can really feel the passion when these artists perform on stage and this comes across in the audiences reactions to them.
