Follow Through With Easy Steps To Green Living

The Issue

Unsure where to start on your path to green living? Here's a few ideas:

1. Every time one of your light bulbs blows out, switch to an energy saving bulb. This will relieve you of the costly duty of switching all of your bulbs at once--though don't let me stop you if you wish to smash a few bulbs with one stone.

2. Go on and buy one of those cute reusable bags on display at the store. Why not? Perhaps you could even splurge on more than one. Just be sure to actually use them!

3. Cut the car idling. I know, I know. It's more convenient to let it run. But what would Mother Earth say?

4. Plunge forward and visit your local farmer's market. You'll be addicted in no time. Fresh produce, happy people, and you doing your part. What's not to love?

5. Switch to using green cleansers around your home. Too expensive? Try my favorite: straight vinegar in a spray bottle. For dish-washing liquids and such, hunt for sales and clip coupons.

If it's overwhelming to do all of the above at once, split it up by months. For example, February can be the light bulb month and March the green cleaning month, and so on.

Off I go! I have a lightbulb to change.
