St David's Hall is a flag ship venue for the capital city of Wales.  the major conferences held there create investment to many other businesses in Cardiff and the surrounding area and also creates more tourism to the city.  It is the only suitable medium sized venue for a great many artists who would not bother with Wales at all if we loose this venue.  It also hosts a great many art exhibitions which would be lost for ever to the citizens and visitors of Cardiff.  The acoustics are second to none and the hall is a major player on the world stage with "Cardiff Singer of the World".  The people of cardiff want a concert hall that is convenient to them in the city centre.

Cardiff New Theatre is a beautiful traditional theatre which attracts interest from around the world.  this theatre needs to kept in the hands of the people of Cardiff and not given up to the highest bidder who could let it run to rack and ruin so they can get their hands on prime city centre land, as has happened to far too many theatres in the UK.  There are no other suitable venues in South East Wales that could hold the kind of weekly touring shows that are held in the New Theatre.  Taking these venues away from the County of Cardiff would be a short sighted tragedy to the people of Wales who travel from all over the country of Wales to attend events and shows at both of these venues.
