Declawing causes great pain.  Many cats end up with their toe end trying to grow back, but it is always gnarled bone that pokes out and causes terrible pain.  Not to mention, declawing removes their front breaks to prevent falls!!  And they no longer have the weapons they need to defend themselves in a fight!   This is SO totally inhumane and cruel!!  It is unnecessary!  It is only done to suit some displeasure in us humans.  We do not have the right to alter their lives in such a cruel way, just because we don't like the clawing of some inanimate object!!  Cats CAN be trained to not claw people and furniture.  And all one has to do is buy several cardboard scratchers, and place them near things the cat WAS clawing. They MUCH prefer the cardboard to just about everything else, with exception of trees.                                              We need to stop this unnecessary and cruel practice.
