Anti-gay bill in Nigeria -

Coverage needs to be raised on this issue so more people are aware of what's happening to gay people in Africa. Maybe if we can send this to the Nigerian Senate we can show our distain for this ridiculous bill.

Thousands of homosexual people in Africa will spend their lives living in fear and possibly in prison because of this bill. Not only gay people but also friends and families or even organisations helping Gay and Lesbian's if they're seen to be "aiding" homosexuality.

The Nigerian senate has passed a bill banning same-sex marriages, defying a threat from Britain to withhold aid from nations violating gay rights.

The bill by Africa's most populous nation calls for a 14-year sentence for anyone convicted of homosexuality. Anyone who aids or "abets" same-sex unions faces 10 years in prison, a provision that could target rights groups.

Not only will this bill harm the gay population of Nigeria but everyone who receives aid will suffer too.
