The PD / Animal Control frivolously classifies dogs they receive complaints against as dangerous and forces their families to euthanize them. They do not file a case in court as required by law and give the families their right to a hearing. The PD is misusing their power as law enforcers against voiceless animals and people who simply just do what the cops tell them to do, at times sacrificing their rights.

When familes fight for their right to a hearing, the ofiicers :

- Deny/ lie about legal rights available to families to fight for their dogs.

- Lie about court orders passed by judges to euthanize their dogs when no case has even been filed in the court.

- Intimidate families with threats of arrests and vindictive hearings conducted by officers who are not independent.

- In some cases, abuse their power of discretion "to prove a point" by conducting improper arrests .

This case is important to me to give voice to all the animals and their families who have been stripped off their voice. In addition, there should be some accountability and consequences for the actions of the officers who do this.

With this, hopefully we can set some small precedent in Morgan Hill and elsewhere that will provide a bit more protection to animals and their families from such abuse in the future.
