Abolish the "Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act"

The Issue

This act was passed by the Senate in September 2006, approved by the House of Representatives in November 2006, and signed into law by Bush on Nov. 27th, 2006. It states that if protests, consumer boycotts, whistle blowing, film footage or media campaigns cause any animal enterprise a loss of profit, then the activist or protester or filmmaker will be imprisoned. It allows the First Amendment rights of freedom of speech to be taken away from certain people by prosecuting them if they speak out against animal cruelty. This is clearly a case of corruption where large enterprises are paying politicians to have a law in place so that they can continue making profits from environmental destruction and animal suffering. Let's not let our most basic freedom be infringed upon. Please sign this petition, write your politicians, find some way to abolish this unjust law.
