Over the last decade the Ahmadiyya Muslim community has been targeted due to religious beliefs. In Pakistan Ahmadies  face religious persecution daily and are killed in the most barbaric ways. A recent case being that of Dr.Qamar a famous cardiologist, who was shot while exiting a grave yard. These stories have become very common for Ahmadies  as we hear constantly of the injustice that is occurring in Pakistan. Pakistan is predominantly Shia and Sunni and Ahmadies  being a minority deal with many hardships and injustice and often end up paying with their lives. The Pakistani government fails to take any action towards this issue. This makes Ahmadis an easy target. Before being a part of any religion we are humans, and no human deserves to be treated the way Ahmadies  are being treated in Pakistan. The Pakistani government introduced a series of laws discriminating against the Ahmadies  some of which include the Martial Law Ordinance which states that Ahmadies are “criminals liable to fine and imprisonment if they practiced their belief in Islam.“

How are we as Ahmadies  supposed to fight for our rights in Western countries when our own country cannot grant us basic human rights? It is particularly sad to think that Western countries are more accepting than our own home country. This petition is created to give all the Ahmadies  and all martyred Ahmadies a voice in asking for justice.
