Stop using rat poison to control the rat infestation across from the Pittsburgh Hays Bald Eagle nest

The Issue

There is an abandoned recycling center across the river in Pittsburgh from the eagle cam (PixController)(Pittsburgh Hays Bald Eagles)  The plant is less than a mile from the nest. and have gotten out of control due to all of the garbage left behind when the previous owner walked away. They are planning on doing a mass poisoning. The eagles have had at least 3 rats brought to the nest in the last week, so this is definitely a direct threat to the nest. It has been at least a century since the eagles have nested here, only to kill the ones who have come here to nest with rat poison? Please, stop using rat poison and try and find some other means to rid the abadoned plant of the rats. Thank You. Also, I want to thank Judy McMurdy Beirne, for her major contribution to this petition and her tireless work to help save the Pittsburgh (Hays) Eagles.

I have found some natural ways to get rid of the rats. They despise the smell of moth balls and camphor. Moth balls are very inexpensive....how about using that? Also, you can purchase fox, coyote or bobcat urine ....or ask everyone in Hazelwood area of Pittsburgh to donate their used cat litter! The place is going to need to be cleaned up by the current owner, anyway. Why not spread the used cat litter around? Or, they could possibly ask the restaurants in the area to donate their used grease from the day and soak crushed cork in it, then bring it in by the truckload to the plant. Rats cannot digest cork, and they will die.
