Tori's Bakeshop, a vegan bakery and coffee shop by day, wants to add a wine bar feature at night in the same space. We plan to separate these entities, such that alcohol won't be available during our normal daytime service. In the spring, we received preliminary approval from the AGCO and the City of Toronto for a liquor license. However, on May 7th, we received a single letter of objection, from our neighbor across the street. We've worked for the last three months, enduring excessive cost and delay, to mediate this conflict and assuage his concerns, to no avail. He will agree to no compromise, and persists in working to deny us a liquor license completely, making every use of possible postponement in the interim. We want to show at our License Appeal Tribunal hearing that he is the single objector, and that overwhelmingly we are supported in our desire to convert to an upscale wine bar at night, featuring vegan, organic, and biodynamic wines. We are not seeking to increase capacity, license a patio, or do anything other than to continue positively supporting our local Beach(es) community, in an additional manner.
