Greenland has set quotas for hunting of whales in 2014: 174 Minke Whales, 19 Fin Whales, 2 Greenland Whales, 10 Humpback Whales, 398 Narwhales and 350 Belugas (Total 953) 

Fin Whales, Humpback Whales and Greenland Whales (Bow Whales) are endangered.

When several  restaurants in Greenland have whale meat on the menu and Greenland is visited by many tourists it is commercial whaling and not just a matter of survival.

 In addition, whales become so filled with toxin as it is medically unsafe to eat.
