Reinstate the Comment Section to its original format.

The Issue

I believe that Change.org is a vital and necessary organization that gives a voice to thousands and thousands of people worldwide.

Having said this, the recent alterations to the former Comment Section by Change.org has cut off a valuable and much needed community support network and update forum. The Comment Section cannot simply be replaced by other online sites and the new "Reasons Why I Signed" format is out of date, with no room for replies.

Change.org has explained that some people used the section for posting negative/hateful comments but these can be moderated by the change.org community as is done on Craigslist.

Change.org is relevant because it is a call for Social Justice and Change. By making this change to the comment section, your company has caused the signatures to slow down and halted free speech. Does this not go against your values? Can the people not be trusted to monitor the petitions? Can you not monitor the comments as well?

Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship. The term freedom of expression is sometimes used synonymously, but includes any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used.

"The free communication of ideas and opinions is one of the most precious of the rights of man. Every citizen may, accordingly, speak, write, and print with freedom, but shall be responsible for such abuses of this freedom as shall be defined by law."[5]

I am calling on Change.org to reinstate the original Comment Section so that we can continue to have a voice. The irony of this petition about change.org on change.org is priceless.

I respectfully thank you.
