There are thousands of gamers who use are stuck using a username which they regret chosing, some were assigned default usernames which are completely unchangeable. 
It's appauling to see a modern corporation lacking nessesary features such as this.
It's a standard expected feature nowadays as Steam has the ability to have a display name which differs from your login username, Origin also allows you to change your username.

So why doesn't Ubisoft?

Being assigned a username such as "shop" followed by many various numbers and letters or a username containing personal information and being unable to change it is disgusting. 

When creating a Uplay account it does not inform you anywhere that your username will not be changable, after reading the Uplay Terms of Service I have found that it too, doesn't mention you will not be able to change your username.

I have searched through the Uplay forums to find posts dating back to 2011 requesting username changes yet nothing has been done about it. I've seen forum staff members post that they are supposedly working on a feature to allow name changes, however they've been saying that for over a year and yet nothing has changed in that time. Despite users posting back in 2011 there is still not so much as a warning that you will not be able to change your username. This shows that they really have no regard for their users.

Some users have managed to contact Uplay Support requesting username changes and some people have successfully had their name changed- However they were not aware that having their name changed by Uplay Support would unlink their game CD Keys from their account, meaning they require to repurchase all games they previously had to play they again.

Such a feature should have been there from the start and with the help of all who read this we can try our best to see that it happens. I will be purchasing no more games developed by Ubisoft until I can change my username. Not a single dime.
