It was initially advertised by the Western Advocate on their face book page "Mt Panorama to officially be known by it's traditional name Wahluu".

This is what stirred emotions among those who know and love the mountain by it's current name, Mt Panorama.

Shortly after, there was a back pedal by the Western Advocate, and other media. The back pedal was that the mountain will actually be "co named" with it's traditional aboriginal name, and that 'nothing will change' for the current name, the same as Ayres Rock/Uluru's co-naming.

Interesting fact is that the Co-naming of Ayres Rock to Uluru HAS caused change over time, and this is what has been feared with the co-naming of Mt Panorama.

I respect the traditional occupants of the land, but I also look at where the name "Mt Panorama" sits, it's an australian icon, it's the number 1 place for tourism for Bathurst, it supports wine makers, motor sport fans, and photographers for it's picturesque scenery.

Why change the winning formula that is currently in place??
