Choose the Dandenong Ranges community for the Pop Up Kitchen competition!
The issue
The Dandenong Ranges community is particularly concerned about providing healthy food options in the face of the imminent opening of a 24/7 drive through fast food outlet opposite a school and kindergarten in Tecoma. The Dandenong Ranges' battle to keep fast food chains out has inspired a strong and creative local, regional, national and global response of enthusiastic and diverse support.
Now it needs your team to teach the wider community how to cook healthy, affordable, and delicious food. The Dandenongs is a tourist hot spot due to its national parks, quaint villages, old steam train and unique character. Let it also set an example to all visitors how a community can create a sustainable culture of good food!
Note to Petition Signatories:
We are keeping this petition open and want to show Jamie as much support as possible! Now we have a kitchen site venue, Burrinja Cultural Centre, 50 letters of support from schools, organisations, businesses, services, and government supporters. We welcome new letters and offers of support as we go forward. In particular, anything that could have potential participants in the program; offer some kind of skill, service or knowledge; help promote the program; or help fundraise. We imagine many mutually beneficial partnerships forming across a wide spectrum in the community. We are determined for this project to go ahead no matter what, so hop on board for a wonderful ride!
