Bill and Lou are 2 oxen that have been slave laborers and toilers for the grounds of Green Mountain College in Springfield, Vermont for the past 10 years. Now they are old and ailing so the school decided to slaughter them at the end of this month October 2012 and serve them on the school menu as burgers. Bill and Lou were accepted lovingly and freely by Miriam Jones and her staff at Vine Sanctuary located in Springfield, Vermont. This will be absolutely FREE to Green Mountain College but the college went them both dead by the end of this month. This is the thanks for all the years they toiled the grounds. Green Mountain actions are unconscionable, heartless, inhumane, insensitive, lacking compassion, mercy for Bill and Lou. This is not about carnivorous versus vegetarian but what is RIGHT in this particular situation. Be their voice for Bill and Lou and sign the petiton and call this heartless Green Mountain College as well as calling the President, Provost, Farm manager and tell them what they proposed to do is not going to be tolerated. Tell them that the school's reputation is on the line and will suffer for many of a time if they don't acknowledge the will of the people and let Bill and Lou live in peace and harmony at the Vine Sanctuary.
