Stop plans to remove Blacktown Pool.

The issue

This is important because it is one of the few venues schools can use for swimming carnivals in Western Sydney, it is a venue where world records have been broken, Olympians have trained there and future champions continue to train there.

It is a place where a family can have a fun day out for less then $20, where children learn to swim, where locals use the pool and gym as apart of their fitness routine and a site that honours those who have paid the supreme sacrifice as the pool was formerly known as Blacktown War Memorial Pool.

Mayor Len Robinson should be consulting with our community on any matters that directly affect the community and it's public facilities.

Save our local pool.

As Nathan Rees, Member for Toongabbie says :

" Many of us learnt to swim in public pools. In Western Sydney, those pools keep thousands of people cool over hot summer months. Many locals swim laps to keep fit, and many people with chronic injury use our local pool at Blacktown for recovery and rehabilitation purposes.
In Western Sydney, temperatures frequently hit 40 degrees. Closing public pools is madness. Blacktown Council must guarantee the future of Blacktown pool. "
