Freedom of Speech.  This is no longer about a mistake which has been apologised for.  This is about the Labour Partys Dirt Machine trying to destroy one of the few democratic voices of Australia in the public arena.  The question might more likely be - what level of anger has Julia Gillard and her government evoked in the Australian public - that we might have to speak so ill of her?  Jones does not act in an isolated void.  Many of us have been enraged for many years over the tearing apart of our country by this government.  This storm in a tea cup will look like nothing once the Labour Party is investigated after they lose the next election. Alan Jones will be seen as a hero, and if you let him be crucified now, a hung one.
