Right now, 1 in 6 people around the world don't have enough to eat. That number is skyrocketing, up 20% since 2005.

The G8 took a step in July and pledged $22 billion in new funding to combat hunger. But G8 leaders then broke that promise when they failed to show up to the Food Security Summit in Rome last month to follow through on the commitment.

We've seen politicians back down on their promises before. But we've also seen the power of grassroots mobilization to change the course of history. And with more than 1 billion already going hungry, there's no time to waste.
