Introduce new minibuses to and from Templars Square

Introduce new minibuses to and from Templars Square
The Issue
With recent changes to bus services across Oxford, many people have been cut off from their local shops, family, and friends.
The 46 no longer crosses over Donnington Bridge, the 5A no longer serves Herschel Crescent, and the 3A no longer serves Greater Leys, making it harder for the surrounding communities to get around.
We don't think that's good enough. We're calling on the County Council and bus companies to introduce a new network of minibuses ('Templars Square shuttles') so that local people still have access to Templars Square and local GP practices like Donnington Health Centre.
This would include:
- The 46A from Speedwell Street to Cowley Centre, via the original 46 route, using Donnington Bridge
- The 47 from Cowley Centre to Herschel Crescent, via Bartholomew Road
- The 48 from Cowley Centre to Greater Leys, via Barns Road, Blackbird Leys Road, and Windale Avenue
This petition is part of Oxford Labour's Better Buses campaign, in which we’re calling for a number of changes to our bus services based on what you have told us.
Oxford Labour have asked hundreds of residents across the city how they want bus services to improve. You told us that you want better bus connections to key destinations like the train stations, hospitals, and shops. And you told us you want better services overall - buses that are more reliable, more frequent, and more affordable.
The Labour Government has nearly doubled bus funding for Oxfordshire to over £9 million. Labour will keep pushing the Lib Dems and Greens running the County Council to put this money to good use.
