The Issue

We, the undersigned, demand that MTV Roadies be permanently taken off the air. What was once a show that celebrated youthful adventure and empowerment has become a platform where vulnerable contestants are subjected to blatant exploitation, marked by violence, humiliation, and derogatory treatment—all for the sake of sensational ratings.

Our Concerns:

Exploitation for Entertainment:
Contestants are pushed into demeaning situations, prioritising shock value over genuine talent or personal growth.
Violence and Humiliation:
Numerous accounts, including those detailed by former contestant Hardik Nanda, reveal a disturbing pattern of physical and verbal abuse that inflicts lasting emotional trauma.
Derogatory Practices:
The use of degrading language and actions not only demeans the participants but also normalizes a culture of abuse in reality television.
Mental Health Neglect:
The show exploits contestants’ struggles, trivializing issues like anxiety and depression for ratings, instead of offering real support and empathy.

Our Demands:

Immediate Cessation:
MTV must immediately halt the production and airing of MTV Roadies until a thorough review and overhaul of its practices are completed.
Accountability:
Sponsors and advertisers must withdraw their support until MTV Roadies adheres to ethical production standards that respect the dignity and mental well-being of its contestants.
Regulatory Action:
Media regulators should investigate these practices and enforce strict guidelines to protect individuals from exploitative treatment.
We refuse to stand by while reality TV reduces human dignity to a means of generating drama. Our voices can make a difference—by signing this petition, you are standing up against a system that values sensationalism over humanity. Together, we demand a safer, more respectful media environment.

Enough is enough. It’s time for change.
