Lets help those that want to help themselves! Most companies will NOT hire people that have been convicted of a misdemeanor within three years; a felony, five to ten years. These companies are limiting the chances for positive change. These are not realistic time frames. 67% of offenders become repeat offenders within three years of release. 76% within five years of release. There is an urgent need to judge each case individually. Don't hire people with charges related to the position. Without this adjustment, society as a whole is encouraging a life of crime. The benefits of this would reduce the crime rate, enable tax dollars to be spent elsewhere, and help to motivate offenders to reintegrate with society.
