Bring Harvard Guard Jonathan Sawford back to Winthrop House!

The Issue

Air Force Veteran Jonathan Sawford was removed from service at Winthrop House nearly a month ago.

After faithfully serving Harvard as a house guard for 5+ years, Security Officer Jonathan Sawford was removed from duty pending 'further investigation' by Alonzo B. Herring (alonzo.herring@securitasinc.com),  on the 3rd floor of 342 Broadway Cambridge, MA.

He is accused of saying words he claims he did not say, and finds abhorrent, in a private conversation with a Winthrop House Building Manager Sarah Gallant (sarah_gallant@fas.harvard.edu)

He has been off the schedule and out of work for nearly a month now.

He has a union but they often collaborate with Harvard and large employers and don't push the issue when it comes to defending their own. Read the reviews on line regarding SEIU 32BJ.

This is the 5th incidence of age discrimination in the last year at Harvard in our unit alone and Securitas-Harvard should be ashamed of themselves.

There is a profit motive, essentially bounty hunting, of senior guards created by the conditions of the last contract no guard signed.

Please show your support for Jonathan here, as he continues to battle in the fight of his life after having an unblemished record of service at Harvard for over 5 years.

Updates will appear here as they become available.
