Bring Menchies Frozen Yogurt to the United Kingdom
The Issue
Menchies Frozen Yogurt is a chain of self-serve Frozen Yogurt stores that has been operating in the USA since 2007, when it was founded by a frozen dessert loving couple. There are also stores in a few other countries, such as Mexico and the United Arab Emirates. This franchise would be an excellent thing to have in the UK for reasons that I will detail below. With this petition, I hope to make more people in the UK aware of this most interesting business. In particular, my hope is that the word will spread to people who might be in a position to franchise with Menchies.
I believe that there are 5 main reasons why Menchies should become established in the British Isles. They are as follows:
1. Menchies is different to existing UK dessert businesses
Although frozen dessert stores have always been a popular thing in the UK, and some even list Frozen Yogurt on their menus, there has never been a significant self-serve frozen yogurt chain like Menchies here before, at least not one with as many flavours and toppings as Menchies. I believe that there is therefore a market gap here for what Menchies does. This unique status would serve to capture potential customers‘ interest, and they could become an interesting focal point for the shopping centres and other retail locations that they trade in, a fact which could give these locations a much-needed boost in customer footfall.
2. In today’s climate, it would be nice to support smaller businesses such as Menchies, rather than giants such as McDonalds
Another important consideration is the desire to support smaller businesses. In a world where a select number of fast-food giants dominate the food industry, it would be nice to make use of smaller businesses instead. Naturally, this would conjure up a desire to work with independent traders and local businesses, and that is a noble cause, but there should be room for smaller international concerns as well. Menchies has around 3-5 hundred locations at present, and is not quite as well known as the fast-food giants.
3. Menchies uses healthy and responsible ingredients and avoids additives
A major advantage Menchies has is that they are not burdened by the sorts of unethical and morally questionable practices that the big fast-food restaurants have been guilty of. Rather, Menchies tends to use healthy and responsibly sourced ingredients. In addition to this, Menchies is not known to make use of undesirable additives, which is something that happens all too often in the fast-food industry. I also notice that Menchies has a very good selection of vegan flavours.
4. Menchies is great with kids, and they have a cute mascot
One of the most amazing things about Menchies is their devotion to their customers both young and old. In particular, Menchies, with its bright interiors and casual atmosphere, enjoys very significant popularity with children. Menchies is very accomplished at giving kids an unforgettable experience, and they are capable of throwing very fun and exciting birthday parties. They also have a very cute mascot named Menchie who puts smiles on the faces of kids, who are always excited to see him.
5. Menchies can deliver the positivity we really need in today’s world of fear and uncertainty
The fifth and final reason that should be mentioned here is the positivity and happiness that is closely associated with Menchies. Menchies makes customer happiness one of its most important elements, a fact which becomes quite clear when you look at the number of times the word “smiles” is used in marketing and social media. In a world where scary news headlines and an uncertain economy dominate, it is important to have things such as Menchies, to lift peoples’ moods and remind them that the world isn’t always a bad place.
