Both citizens and honest officers suffer from the lack of accountability and reliable proof. - What is at stake?
Without body cameras, we continue to live in a system where justice depends on word against word. Misconduct goes unpunished, false allegations ruin reputations, and public trust in law enforcement keeps eroding. If we act now, India can take a historic step toward modern, transparent, and accountable policing. Mandatory body cameras will protect both citizens and police, create verifiable records of every encounter, and help ensure that truth — not power — decides what is right. - Why is now the time to act? As technology becomes affordable and accessible, there is no excuse to delay reform. Let’s demand that the Government of India and all state governments make body-worn cameras mandatory for all police officers.
