Help Brian Cosby (Missouri DOC) achieve parole in 2017
Brian Cosby was raised in a broken home in inner city St. Louis, Mo, the sixth of eight children. Both parents abused drugs and he learned at an early age that if e wanted to help support his family while he was too young to work, he would have to steal. Eventually, he surrounded himself with other like-minded pre-teens and teens and his thefts led to drugs. He stole, sold and used drugs. At the age of 18, he burglarized a store, taking a gun to scare the clerk, but shot and killed him, resulting in a sentence f 20 years to life. After the shock of what he had mindlessly done, Brian reevaluated his life. Taking the life of an innocent person dramatically impacted him, and he realized that he needed to 'create' a new person, and learn all that what he had missed as he grew up, and whatever the outcome of his life, he wanted to be the best person he could be. Since that time, 22 years ago, Brian has taken nearly every class available in each facility in which he resided. I have known Brian 10 years and the class that most impacted and changed his outlook was the drug and alcohol therapeutic community. He went back to his first memories, learned what lay within the innermost part of his mind and what caused his thinking to become so distorted. Today, Brian is a model prisoner, a mentor to many, and extremely remorseful fo the actions that caused a life to be taken. He is a changed person who wants to spend his life working with at risk kids, as he was. Please sign this petition in Brian's behest. I have an advocate for incarcerated long termers ans lifers for 22 years. I would not write this petition if I didn't believe Brian would be a safety problem in the community. I believe in him.
