Metro for Lidcombe .
Sydney Metro for Lidcombe
The newly announced Sydney Metro West line between Sydney CBD and Parramatta via the Bays Precinct and Sydney Olympic Park misses out on an important population area of Western Sydney. The Lidcombe area in Cumberland Council is the gateway to the West and South West for public transport commuters. Lidcombe is a key an interchange on the T1 Western, T2 South, T3 Bankstown and T7 Olympic Park lines that is already overcrowded and suffering from the 2013 cuts to trains (Inner West Line - Liverpool via Regents Park). Without improved public transport services and increased services/connections for the Lidcombe area linking the Bankstown Line and Olympic Park, the new Metro West line will be a white elephant. We call on Transport for NSW, Gladys Berejiklian and Andrew Constance to build the Sydney Metro West to service Lidcombe. Lidcombe has already missed out once for improved public transport with Stage 2 of the Sydney Metro stopping at Bankstown, therefore the new Metro West line must be incorporate Lidcombe as part of a holistic public transport in Western/South Western Sydney. Tell Transport for NSW, Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Transport Minister Andrew Constnace , Luke Foley (Auburn MP & Opposition Leader), Jodi McKay (Strathfield MP & Shadow Transport Minister) and Cumberland Council that Lidcombe needs Metro!
