Free Kimber Edwards
Kimber Edwards, an innocent autistic man who falsely confessed to hiring someone to kill his wife was about to be executed, but his sentence was commuted to life in prison with the possibility of parole since he is autistic. Also, Orthell Wilson the man who killed Edwards' wife had confessed to acting alone and that he falsely stated that he was hired. People with autism are often easily manipulated, especially during harsh interrogation methods into confessing. Why should an innocent autistic man spend the rest of his life in prison because of a false confession? It's unjust and wrong. he should have been freed as soon as Wilson confessed the truth. Here is the articles that discusses Edwards' case. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-execution-missouri-idUSKCN0RW2F220151002#2lsJETiCV0IZ0Sd4.97 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3252579/Advocates-say-man-facing-execution-Missouri-innocent.html
Free Paul Modrowski
Paul Modrowski, a 40 year old autistic man was arrested in 1993 when he was 18 for a murder he did not commit. Not only that, but Paul is autistic, and it was known that he was autistic during his trial and conviction. There was no DNA evidence linking him to the crime, simply the murderer falsely accusing Mr. Modrowski of the heinous act of decapitating a man named Dean Fawcett. Paul's Defense Attorney William Von (Hoene not only did not allow Paul to bring any witnesses to his defense, one of which was his sister, who claimed that Paul was with the family at the time of the crime), nor did he reveal Paul's diagnosis of autism to the jury. This cause the jury to misinterpret Paul's awkward body language such as lack of eye contact and stoic emotion as lack of remorse and therefore proven guilt. Also, Paul was a wanted suspected in a mass murder at a Brown's chicken Pasta Restaurant in palatine Illinois after Faraci said Paul did it to get the prosecution off of his case. So, it was likely done as publicity that the mass murderer was behind jail to bring closure to the then unsolved murder case. Paul was never charged in connection with the mass murder, and in 2002, the real perpetrators behind the massacre were caught, convicted and sentenced to life without parole. Even after Faraci's ex-wife confessed that Faraci set Paul up. Modrowski was found guilty for accountability to murder even when Robert Faraci was acquitted on all charges for supposedly lending a car to Robert, two days after the wife's confessions. Even when it was known as a fact that he did not commit the murder, he was given the maximum penalty of life without parole, which is the most severe penalty for any crime other than capital punishment and usually is reserved for the most dangerous individuals who will never change and are repeat offenders. Here is a news article where Paul Modrowski was framed for the murder, on orders of the wife of Robert Faraci and she confessed to setting Paul Modrowski up. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1995-01-25/news/9501250246_1_grand-jury-murder-trials-pasta-restaurant Mr Modrowski in addition has no prior criminal history prior to the murder and the state of Illinois threw a disabled man's life away because a terribly outdated guilt by association law. He was given the sentence on an accountability for lending his car to his friend who had committed the murder. He had no idea that his friend was going to kill someone, especially because he was autistic and was likely naive. Also, people with autism are not very good in social and emotional situations. When he was on trial, he showed no emotion for a good part of the trial, a classic trait of someone on the autism spectrum whereby the jury mistook his lack of affection as someone guilty. Mr. Modrowski has created an amazing blog about his prison experience. This post was detailing the arrest in which he was arrested for a crime he did not commit. What is worse is that the was no evidence of Paul's confession to the crime, there was no DNA evidence, no evidence of Paul claiming to lending the car to Faraci. It was simply based on the testimony of a police officers, Robertson and Koziol who held Paul without access to a lawyer, no access to video, or audio for three days. It is for there reason Paul needs to be freed, or at least there needs to be another trial, since he was very, very poorly represented at the trial. Also, he was likely was very depressed since during his trial he broke into tears when his sister described how he was physically abused by his father, which the abuse likely came from due to his social awkward behaviors associated with his autism and lack of understanding. This is the reasons he must be freed and his story is making me tear up! Actually, it is how Paul was treated by his family that led him to leave the house and ended up renting with Faraci, who was Paul's landlord. To grant licenses for meltdown proof Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors to reduce the impact of climate change, reduce nuclear waste and produce leukemia fighting isotopes
The reason this petition is important is because today we are excessively burning fossil fuels and this is leading to climate change. Fossil fuels are also responsible for major conflicts in the Middle East. By turning away from fossil fuels and embracing thorium, we will be paving a future where the USA can not only become energy independent, but a carbon neutral nation. We have enough thorium in the United States to safely produce nuclear energy for thousands of years. LFTR plants have many, many benefits. The first benefit is that LFTR reactors are 100 percent meltdown proof The second benefit on LFTR is that LFTR reactors can burn our current nuclear waste stockpiles, therefore eliminating the need for massive storage facilities for nuclear waste, such as Yucca Mountain in Nevada. A third benefit of LFTR reactors is that these reactors can produce 99 percent less waste than today's reactors. A fourth benefit on LFTR is that the leftover waste products can be used to cure cancer and power spacecraft for deep space exploration. A fifth benefit of building an LFTR reactor is that the energy production would be cheaper than natural gas and coal, which will lead to lower energy bills and a cleaner Enviornment by getting rid of the dangers from Fracking for natural gas and respiratory diseases from coal soot emissions. A sixth benefit of constructing an LFTR is that the reactors can turn the atmospheric gases into fuels for cars, therefore producing zero emission fuels, like hydrogen for fuel cells transport. A seventh benefit of LFTR reactors is that by building and switching to a completely new, and environmentally friendly form of nuclear energy, lots of jobs will be created from the mining and processing of Thorium, the construction of the LFTR, more jobs from the production of cancer medicines, nuclear fuel for space probes batteries, e.t.c. We can once again become a manufacturing superpower, but friendlier to Earth. The Eigth benefit the LFTR is that one of the by-products of Uranium-233 which will be made from Thorium-232 is an alpha particle, Bismuth-213. Unlike an beta particles which emits beta rays kills both healthy and unhealthy cancer cells. Bismuth-213 onthe other hand, will be attached to an anti-body which will find a cancer cell in the bloodstream, the antibody along with the bismuth-213 particle will then attach itself to the cell and then the particle would decay and hit the cancer cell with an alpha particle, killing the cancer cell. Since this isotope only decays once, so it won't kill any other cells, this could allow for a patient to be treated and cured of cancer, but not suffer any side-effects. With thorium being one of the most common elements, on par with lead, we can avoid an energy crisis, ensure world peace and save the climate all in one move. Thorium reactors also do not need to be pressurized, since the reactor operates at such high temperatures that the fuel melts, so the reactors will be cheaper to build than most fossil fuel plants and other outdated nuclear reactors. Also, the salts in the reactor will expand if the reaction gets to fast, and that will slow down the reaction and cool the reactor, all without human intervention, it's a self-sustained reactor that doesn't even have to be manned
