Dardenne City Manager: Stop an accident waiting to happen
I live near the intersection of N and Crossroads Elementary, and after a large truck came within inches of hitting me, I’m asking the city manager of Dardenne to keep the traffic light there on at all times. Because the light is often off, drivers run the light -- even when it is on -- putting residents, children at the school, and other drivers at risk of serious injury or death. I moved to Dardenne because of the sense of safety and community. Having a dangerous intersection right outside of my neighborhood takes that away. The thought of my family, friends, and my neighbors’ kids -- all who drive through the intersection daily -- being injured in a traffic accident terrifies me. The city manager can permanently turn on the light at the intersection of N and Crossroads. This would make drivers always pay attention and ensure our community, especially the children attending Crossroads Elementary, have a safe commute. It’s a simple, free change that will bring peace of mind and prevent a needless tragedy. If the city manager does not act it will only be a matter of time before an accident happens. The cost for something so preventable would be incalculable, especially if the victims are children. Sign my petition asking the city manager to turn on the traffic light permanently.
