STOP PERSECUTION OF ABBOTT AT DHAMMAKAYA TEMPLE IN BANGKOK, DO NOT DO MILITARY RAID
The Dhammakaya Temple in Bangkok is under siege and the Thai military is about to do a raid in hopes to remove their Abbott Phrathepyanmahamuni (Venerable Dhammajayo Bhikkhu), you can read his entire biography here http://en.dhammakaya.net/about/the-dhammakaya-masters/phrathepyanmahamuni/ Time is of essence and I'll speak for myself. The Dhammkaya temple is an incredible place with incredible, kind and generous devotees to Buddhism, who uphold world peace, love and kindness, good health and prosperity for all. Their programs benefit an enormous amount of people in Thailand, even in remote places where they build monasteries and take in young men who learn values, to be honest and hard working, to be able to take care of their families and not get drunk or abusive. They learn how to meditate, everyone can learn and that is what most people do. Some of these men go back into society and start a family; others become monks and in turn teach others. All monks learn how to read and write Pali and Sanskrit, which is very important to better research and understand the roots of Buddhism. All monks and temple staff have to finish their higher education, preferably obtain a PHD. Their scientific department focuses on ancient manuscripts and they promote and support research that they make available to all. They have worked with the United Nations, have youth programs, health programs and outreach efforts. Their motto is cleanliness, water preservation and a sound diet. I was a guest of the Dhammakaya several times. They were always super gracious. Our relationship began with the work I used to do "Save Mess Aynak" an effort to protect an ancient Afghan Buddhist site from being destroyed for the copper mine it was build upon centuries ago. The Dhammakaya helped me with my petition, created conferences and an entire movement to help halt the Chinese mining company from moving forward and we succeeded for a while. The political and security situation in Afghanistan has severly deteriorated since and no one can really do any work on the grounds at the moment. Thanks to the Dhammakaya, my work had received much needed attention, I also learned how to meditate which was so beneficial to me for managing my stress, I was surrounded by kindness and humility and people who were hard working and eager to make a positive change for the world. Today their Abbott Phrathepyanmahamuni is accused of embezzlement and corruption by the Thai military because in fact he and his temple(s) represent a threat. They have tens of thousands of followers around the world, there are hundreds of centers around the world, they do good and yes people support them financially so the temple prospers and can get a lot done and really does. Phrathepyanmahamuni is a threat to them certainly not to us, not to the rest of the world. He is an honnest man. Please sign this petition and let Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha that he is making a grave mistake by attempting to remove Phrathepyanmahamuni from the temple and destroying an important aspect of the spiritual life of tens of thousands of people. Phrathepyanmahamuni is to the Thai Buddhists what the Dalai Lama is to the Tibetan Buddhists. This is unacceptable. Please read his bio get to know the story behind the Dhammakaya. THIS IS WHAT THEY STAND FOR: The Dhammakaya Foundation is a non-profit organization, based on personal development, it aims to promote activities for restoration of morality in individual, family, society and the world. While many are searching for peace from without, we believe that world peace MUST begin from each and everyone of us. That’s why we promote the use of meditation in order to help individual cultivate inner peace inside themselves.
