Don't let Brexit divide our party, Stella: Support Jeremy Corbyn's leadership!
Following the democratic decision to leave the EU, we, as local Labour Party members and supporters, think it is important for the party to unite to win back support from the party's core supporters who have felt disconnected from both Brussels and Westminster. Jeremy Corbyn, whose sceptical but supportive views on the EU, was the mainstream party leader most reflective of the larger public's views. We do not believe that his departure will heal the wounds in the party or address the larger issues we have in public perception. An uncritically pro EU leader from the party's right wing will not resonate with people who's trust we need to win back. We therefore ask that if the PLP debates a motion of no confidence in Jeremy, that you vote against such a move, and urge the party to unite to fight for a UK which really does help those in Labour's heartlands.
