A childless SUV driver is many times greener than a parent on a bicycle. Please read my petitions advocating municipal environmental contraception funding, which is increasingly politically realistic due to The Big Sort in more and more towns, and helps women's health and school taxes. <a href="http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000980387141" rel="nofollow">http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000980387141</a> <a href="http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/transfer-all-environmental-funds-to-contraception-especially-municipal" rel="nofollow">http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/transfer-all-environmental-funds-to-contraception-especially-municipal</a> <a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/childfreetown" rel="nofollow">http://groups.yahoo.com/group/childfreetown</a> <a href="http://www.thebigsort.com/maps.php" rel="nofollow">http://www.thebigsort.com/maps.php</a>
Support Marriage Equality, Sign the Mayors for Freedom to Marry pledge
More than 175 Mayors from across the country have joined the Mayors for the Freedom to Marry pledge. Unfortunately Mayor Terry Bellamy isn't listed. The strength and health of our cities are enhanced when all families are protected and supported. Many loving and committed same-sex couples are active participants in improving our communities, especially in reducing fertility induced school taxes, and they deserve to know their mayor supports them, too. Furthermore, the freedom to marry enhances the economic competitiveness of our communities, improves the lives of families that call our cities homes, and is simply the right thing to do. Please urge Mayor Terry Bellamy to sign the Mayors for the Freedom to Marry pledge and by signing this petition sharing it with your friends, families and neighbors. LGBTQ neighbors mean low school taxes and less traffic due to low gay fertility, about 0.5 TFR including adoption.
Guarantee the right to sleep in public.
Sleep is a basic human need and sleep deprivation has severe health consequences, both short and long term. Plus, some people are homeless and some are narcoleptic. People must have the right to sleep in any location in which they have the right to be when awake. On sidewalks, only wheelchair dependent people have the right to disturb sleepers and even then only when no alternative means of passage exists. State and local autonomy do not supercede these rights.
Asheville LGBT rights for environment
For the environment and low school taxes due to low gay fertility, I support the Resolution in support of full equality for all Asheville citizens, and IMMEDIATE implementation of same sex domestic partner benefits for Asheville employees. I further support similar action in almost all cities, towns, counties and states. "Almost" because the die-hard fundies do need an asylum somewhere to which to "big sort" themselves; and remembering that unlike presidents and governors, mayors are not answerable to rural voters. http://www.ashevillenc.gov/WorkArea/showcontent.aspx?id=25946 http://www.ashevillenc.gov/WorkArea/showcontent.aspx?id=25948 http://www.thebigsort.com/maps.php Because equality is only one reason among many.
Repeal and/or ban all single family zoning and unit density limits
Because single family zoning and unit density limits are the single biggest cause of homelessness, plus they pollute the environment by increasing commuting distances, damage housing affordability, infringe on private property rights and cause the very overpopulation they were created to prevent by encouraging large houses with room for too many children; all single family zoning and unit density limits should be repealed and/or banned immediately. Also occupancy limits that apply to unrelated adults but not equally to large families should be repealed and/or banned as well.
Tell web forum administrators to stop censoring overpopulation activists and lying about reasons.
As part of the organized conspiracy of overpopulation denial, many web forum administrators are censoring overpopulation, environmental contraception and school tax activists and compounding their censorship with lies about relevance. Tell them and their bosses that this practice must end immediately and with public apologies. http://scrutinyhooligans.us/2008/05/07/the-morning-after/ http://scrutinyhooligans.us/2008/02/29/candidates-for-office-in-buncombe-county-races/ http://www.mountainx.com/forums/viewthread/3098/ http://www.mountainx.com/forums/viewthread/400/ http://www.grist.org/article/2010-06-25-nearly-a-fifth-of-american-women-skip-childbearing/N20 http://www.news.com.au/world/hillary-clinton-tries-to-silence-brave-bindi/story-fndir2ev-1226560803039
Transfer all environmental funds to contraception
Because contraception is at least five times as cost-effective as any other environmental program, and probably many times that, all environmental and alternative energy funds in the budgets of all levels of government, especially municipalities, should be transferred to contraception funding immediately. This being paid contraception if funds remain after free contraception has been provided, and not limited to residents of the locality or state involved. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/childfreetown/ http://www.optimumpopulation.org/releases/opt.release09Sep09.htm http://www.projectprevention.org/ The reason MUNICIPAL environmental contraception funding has heightened importance is a polysci megatrend called The Big Sort, where like minded voters, like overpopulataion activists, are concentrating into local majorities, which turns national minorities into local majorities and makes more and more cost-effective causes, including overpopulation, politically realistic on the local level; and because mayors are not answerable to rural voters, unlike presidents and governors. Sadly, the major overpopulation, contraception and choice movements have badly neglected local government. This is in addition to the fact that local government funding is heavy on schools and childcare, where federal funding is heavy on retirement, which is the one economic problem not solved by contraception. http://www.thebigsort.com/maps.php http://www.feminist.org/news/newsbyte/uswirestory.asp?id=12874 http://www.nationalpartnership.org/site/News2?abbr=daily4_&page=NewsArticle&id=32477&security=1521&news_iv_ctrl=-1 In answer to a question; The petition automatically sends E-mails to YOUR state and federal representatives, but it cannot look up your city, town or county representatives who are the most important recipients, as it is they who benefit most from The Big Sort. I was able to program it to send E-mails to mayors or vice mayors in Asheville NC, near me, and Santa Cruz CA, which is my best guess as to the US city with the highest percentage of overpopulation activists. But I cannot easily look up your city, town or county leaders and niether can Change.org, so it would help if you did that part yourselves. However Googling the name of the locality usually produces a local government website with the contact information, so it's not too hard if you're already on the web.
