DWB (DRIVING WHILE BLACK) Law or VP law (vulnerable persons law)
I am saddened by the continual abuse of power by some police. Many police do their jobs with honor and dignity, upholding the values they have been sworn to live out, to apprehend true criminals, but protect the innocent citizens. However, some abuse their office and attack the innocent, many times simply based on the color of their skin, not the content of their character or because they fit a certain stereotypical description of what society says a criminal looks like. Enough is enough, because of this blatant abuse of power the likes of Travyon Martin, Oscar Grant, Sandy Bland, and Eric Gardner (I can't breathe) a father who should not have been killed. I agree that gang violence is a problem, but the innocent should not be killed for the decisions of the reckless just because of their skin color. My friends, I am not calling all cops racist, but I am saying that you can't give absolute power to the office and expect everyone to honor it properly it is obvious that because of those who abuse the office we are going to have to taylor the law to enforce the rights of the people but also allow cops to do their jobs. DWB LAW-- 1.) NO POLICE OFFICER MAY DRAW A WEAPON ON AN UNARMED INDIVIDUAL NO MATTER THE CAUSE OF STOP 1A) especially if the person has been already handcuffed if they do this is a cause for immediate dismissal from the police departement. 1B) if the cop then opens fire on said individual they are to be given the highest letter of the law where they will be charged for murder in the 1st degree. (reasoning is you can't bring a knife to a gun fight no person can hurt a police officer when they already have Mace, Tazers, Clubs, Rubber Bullets available to them). If a person charges them in that extreme situation they may use a tazer until the person drops, or rubber bullets, as they do when their is a riot, or mace if needed, but a gun is excessive force) 2.) All traffic stops should be for the same reasons in other words expired registration, weaving back and fourth in traffic (drunk driving), but not because based on appearance you are said to be suspicious. 3.) if a person is pulled over, their license if their is no warrant for their arrest based on criminal history, they must be released 10-15 minutes from the time they are pulled over their license should be checked, the fix it ticket must be given or a warning, but no stops without proper cause are tolerated. They cannot be hand cuffed, or asked to leave their car, they cannot even be read any rights, but must be simply allowed to go. 4.) A person saying they are not going to come out of the car when they have not broken any laws, they must also not be as I said earlier handcuffed. If they are taken out of the care all actions from that point on must be in front of the camera at all times, or multiple cameras must be added to all sides of the car from all angles back of car sides, of police car etc.. 5.) Finally no choke holds may be used in apprehending an suspect unless they are using a weapon such has a knife, if there are multiple cops and the person is unarmed they cannot use the choke hold, they can restrain another way, also they cannot put their knee on the persons neck at any time. If any of these rules are violated the officer will be fired, however if anything they do results in the death or adverse bodily harm of the individual they are to spend 40 years to life in a prison like any normal criminal. They also will not receive any more benefits.
